What is Needed at a Closing

For a transaction where you are the purchaser and borrower on a mortgage, you will need to bring the following documentation to the closing:

• Picture identification;
• Copy of homeowner’s insurance or binder;
• A list of your past residences for the prior 10 years; and
• Any requirements or documents specifically required by the mortgage company.

The following documentation should be brought with you to a closing where you are the sellers:

• Picture identification;
• Social security number;
• A list of your residences for the past 10 years; and
• If you are married, both spouses are required to be at a closing involving the sale of residential property.
